Flutter Developer

Part-Time Contract EdTech Mobile

Posted 17 July 2026 · Closes TBD

About the Role

We're building a mobile app for the education sector — an early-stage startup with a pilot launch planned in the coming months. We need a Flutter developer who can take a working backend and turn it into a fully functional, polished app, fast.

This is a part-time, milestone-based contract, not a full-time position. It's structured as an 8–10 week engagement to begin with, with clear weekly deliverables.

What You'll Be Building

  • User login and role-based profiles (multiple user types, each with a different view)
  • A social feed with posts and a community Q&A section
  • A personal dashboard summarising a user's activity and progress
  • A simple analytics and insights feature (details shared with the successful candidate)
  • A lightweight gamification layer — points, levels, badges
  • A basic AI-assisted chat feature
  • Real-time functionality throughout (live feeds, notifications)

Full product scope and detailed feature specs are shared after signing an NDA, ahead of the first paid milestone.

Tech Stack

  • Flutter (not FlutterFlow) with Riverpod for state management
  • Supabase (Postgres + Auth + Realtime + Storage) as the backend
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications
  • Integration with a third-party AI API for one in-app feature

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years building real Flutter apps, ideally with real-time features (live feeds, chat, notifications)
  • Experience with Supabase or Firebase, including writing data-access rules that keep different users' data properly separated and private
  • Comfortable working independently on a part-time, milestone-based schedule — weekly check-ins, but you'll own your sprint
  • Bonus: experience building anything with a social or community feel (feeds, comments, likes, follows)
  • Bonus: exposure to EdTech, or genuine interest in the sector

How This Engagement Works

  • Weekly check-ins tied to specific deliverables, not open-ended status updates
  • Payment structured around milestones: an upfront portion, a midpoint portion, and a final portion at launch
  • Private GitHub repository — you'll be added as a collaborator with scoped access
  • You'll be asked to sign an NDA and an IP Assignment Agreement before receiving the full product brief or repository access

UI/UX Designer

Fixed-Scope Project EdTech Figma

Posted 17 July 2026 · Closes TBD

About the Role

We're building a mobile app for the education sector — an early-stage startup. We need a designer to create the complete look and feel of the app: every screen, in Figma, ready to hand straight to our developer.

This is a fixed-scope project, roughly two weeks of focused work, not an ongoing role.

What You'll Be Designing

A single app that needs to feel right for several very different types of users at once — some screens need to feel calm and simple, others need efficiency for quick daily tasks, and others need energy and a social, community feel.

  • Login and profile setup (with different flows for different user types)
  • A social home feed
  • A community Q&A / discussion feature
  • A personal profile screen with achievement badges (no scores or rankings — a considered design decision)
  • A dashboard summarising someone's progress — reassuring and clear, not clinical
  • An analytics and insights screen — our core differentiating feature (full detail shared under NDA)
  • A gamification layer — XP bars, levels, badges, streaks
  • Daily task checklists, simplified per user type
  • An AI assistant chat screen

What We Need From You

  • A complete design system: colours, type, spacing, and reusable components built with Figma variants
  • High-fidelity screens for the full list above, including interactive states (default, pressed, disabled, loading)
  • Mobile-first, portrait orientation throughout

What We're Looking For

  • A portfolio with at least one mobile app that served more than one type of user
  • Comfort designing sensitive, human-facing data in a way that feels supportive, not clinical or judgmental
  • Experience with gamification UI (XP, levels, badges) is a strong plus
  • Clean, well-organised Figma files — components and variants, not one-off static frames

How This Engagement Works

  • A fixed two-week project, front-loaded — most of the intensive work happens in the first week
  • You'll be asked to sign an NDA before receiving the full product brief and any real content
  • All final Figma files and assets become the company's property upon delivery
